St. Stephen’s is an multicultural congregation, with members representing several ethnic groups, races and cultures. The congregation gathers for worship at 10 am on Sundays and church festivals, to celebrate Holy Eucharist and engage in Christian formation. We welcome children to our Sunday School (or to join us in worship) and provide a Zoom-link for participants unable to join in person.
We are active members in our Northeast Burnaby neighbourhood. The monthly New to You Market from our volunteer-run Thrift Shop has over 45 years of experience providing quality used goods at reasonable prices. The Community Meal, on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, brings together parishioners and neighbours to build relationships, combat loneliness, and increase access to healthy meals at no cost to participants.
Anglicans began gathering in the Burquitlam area in the early 20th century. St. Stephen’s building was completed 1913. For over 100 years, the strong desire and commitment of the people has helped generations to worship God, to grow as Christians, and to serve their neighbours.
We are a parish in the Anglican Church of Canada, Diocese of New Westminster.
