A Note About Archdeacons

This Sunday, March 12, we will pray for the ministry of the Archdeacons of the Diocese of New Westminster. That might make you wonder, "What is an Archdeacon?"

On our diocesan website, it says "To assist the bishop with pastoral care and administration, each diocese is divided into regional areas called Archdeaconries, each overseen by a Regional Archdeacon."

In our Diocese, one of the most visible roles of Archdeacons is assisting parishes through clergy transitions.

St Stephen's is in the Archdeaconry of Westminster which includes parishes in the Tri-Cities, Burnaby, and New Westminster.
