Update for August 2020
WORSHIP: On August 2 and August 9, we continue to offer our Sunday Morning Prayer via Zoom with an In Person Option. On August 16, we will hold our first service of Holy Eucharist since mid-March. This service will offer Communion in one kind only (just wafers). The COVID-19 protocols we have put into place will continue. We are worshipping in the Parish Hall until September. We will continue to use Zoom for those who prefer to log in or phone in. Details can be found on the Events section of our website.
CHILDREN AND YOUTH PROGRAMMING: For August, children and youth are invited to worship with their families either in-person or online. We plan to have a "Back to School" celebration on Sunday, September 6th. Begining on September 6, our Sunday School team will be prepared for our "junior class" of children from kindergarten to grade 7 and for our "senior class" of youth in grade 8 and above. Physical distancing, sanitation, and mask-wearing will be encouraged. If you are a family within our parish, you may be hearing from our Sunday School Coordinator as we prepare for this most unusual fall season.
BIBLE STUDY: Our Friday Night Bible Study continues to meet via Zoom. Our Monday Morning Bible Study is on break until September 14, 2020. More information and Zoom links are available from the Church Office.
PASTORAL CARE: Members of our pastoral care team continue to make regular phone calls to parishioners who are self-isolating. Our priest is available for limited in-person, socially distanced visits. Please continue to remember the needs of parishioners and others in your prayers.
THRIFT SHOP: The Thrift Shop will re-open with a garage sale on Saturday, August 29 from 10-2. Pending changes in the severity of the pandemic, we hope to return to monthly sales on the 3rd Saturday of the month beginning in September. Details are on the Events section of our website.
CRAFT GROUP: The Craft Group is knitting squares for the COVID-19 Memorial Blanket. They are not meeting in-person regularly at this time.
MEMORIAL SERVICES AND FUNERALS: It is possible to schedule small funerals and memorial services at this time. Public Health Orders require that there be no more than 50 people present and they must be able to maintain their 2 metre physical distance. Please contact the Parish Office for more information.
COMMUNITY MEAL: We have suspended the Community Meal until further notice. It is our hope that the Meal be a way to feed our need for human relationship and connection even as it feeds our bodies. We are still working to envision how we might meet the first goal under the restrictions of the pandemic.
GROUPS THAT MEET AT ST STEPHEN'S: We are excited to begin welcoming back the many groups that use our Parish Hall during the week. This process will start Monday, August 17 and take until September 5th.
